F'n A Cotton...

well, im stuck at work on a saturday...my new job. i enjoy it very much, but it kinda sucks that i have to work the hours i work (12-9) and i do have to work a weekend day. however, i did get lucky enough to have back to back days off...so........i'll take it! the job is cake! the hardest part is trying to figure out s.o.p for the company. i really miss being a police officer though. walking up and down the beach all day long, getting paid to get a tan and look cool in my uniform....ok! it wasn't always that awesome. parking tickets, dead people, first aid calls, missing kids, and directing traffic in horrible weather were the hallmarks of my much loved vocation. BUT I DO STILL MISS IT ALL!

Bombshell!!!!!!!!!!!

so aparently some random dev from apple left his dev iphone 4G at a bar near the apple headquarters last night. i know, i know...sounds a bit crazy. but this, ladies and gentlmen, IS the new iphone that is going to come out. i am using the engadget article because i like engadget, but gizmodo has had some exclusive content and pics of it in the wild. im excited because of how pretty this phone is. to me, its a lot like a blackberry 9700 got together with an iphone 3gs, they had a baby, and out popped the iphone 4g. nothing really set in stone as to who the carrier is and other hardware specs. it does sport a removable flash memory port and supposedly a much larger battery than the other previous iphones although it is skinnier than previous iphones.

My Apologies

Well as everyone know, 2010 is here. With it I feel a certain level of stress, a stress that comes from wanting to achieve more. More from myself mainly. I want to further myself in more than one area of my life. I have gotten very good at my job...fixing computers and selling new ones. This, however, is a JOB and not a career. I love where I work and I love the people I work with but again, I feel an intense urge and pressure to accomplish more from myself. I have let certain areas of myself slip even though others have flourished. I NEED to continue my education, NEED to continue to pursue a path towards my ultimate career choice, want to do more to my car and this club. I apologize to the very few people that know this blog existed and actually read what I have to say. More will come! I love cars and I always will have an intelligent and heart felt opinion about them or the happenings of the automotive industry. I know its rediculous to suggest but I know that I was naturally selected to be into cars and the lifestyle associated with them. I hope to get more people involved in this club and to make 2010 a great year for AR Natural Selection. Stay tuned....

This video is amazing. Not only because of my undying love for the Nissan s-chassis, but because it is stripped of corporate "look what i can do-ness" that has seemed to pop up in our import car community. this video has no huge pile of money dumped into it, no sponsors, no pro driver, and no pro videographer either. its a great grass roots effort put forth and is very artistic and very well executed. the car is breath taking as well. its nice to see a video made simply to show how vehicles and film can be fused together to make something that rivals paint on canvas or stone chisled by hands with a special touch.

Ive been wanting an rb swap since i first heard one rip past me at rev limiter in person in New Jersey. Inline 6 motors in general are a thing of beauty. I think there are certain types of motor layouts that sound better than others. The inline 6, the boxer 4, and of course the v8.

Lately I've been looking at what it takes to install an LS1 into an s-chassis. I found a company that anyone should check out if they are interested at all. At www.sikky.com, they make a kit that comes with just about anything needed to install this motor into a 240/Silvia. It includes custom/sweet ass lookin mounts, a custom drive shaft, and most importantly a custom and hand made oil pan that allows you to leave your stock 240 crossmember un-molested and not hacked in half like some other kits require. It just seems like the most ideal swap even if your steering shaft is tightly squoozed between the custom exhaust headers. Nay sayers state that a heavy v8 is a disgrace in a 240, stating it grately throws off the weight distribution and balance. Ive read on various forums from people that have done the swap stating the motor actually weighs 80lbs less than the stock 240's KA24de! People need to remember that the LS series of v8 are the aluminum replacements to the very reliable and widely used iron blocked LT motors.
